Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for the position of an academic staff member:

Job Description:

(Assistant/ Assistant Professor) will participate in teaching bachelor's and master's degree programs (including supervising and reviewing final theses). They will actively engage in creative activities. Additionally, (Assistant/ Assistant Professor) will contribute to the university's third role, mainly through the popularization of creative activities, administrative tasks related to their work, and university self-governance. Assistants are expected to actively pursue a Ph.D. degree.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University degree in the field, at least a master's degree in Fine Arts
  • Experience in the field
  • Aptitude for teaching and creative activities
  • Independent, responsible, and creative approach to work
  • Moral and civic integrity
  • Communication and organizational skills
  • Teaching experience at a university level is an advantage
  • Proficiency in the Czech language at C2 level

Salary conditions:

The first round of the selection procedure will take place without the personal presence of the applicants by assessing the submitted materials by the selection committee. Only selected candidates will be invited to the second round, which will take place in the form of a personal interview with the selection committee. During the interview, the candidate will present their work and teaching concept. The selection procedure will be conducted in Czech.

The Dean reserves the right to invite only selected candidates for a personal interview and also the right not to select any candidate. The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at UO may also cancel or repeat the selection procedure.
